A player from our HS team last season is playing there as a freshman. Getting some playing time recently from what I can tell. My son visited Wofford, which is also in Spartanburg. The city is not very nice, though the downtown area has some nice spots. Greenville is a very nice city nearby. Don't know much about the school otherwise.
The last time I was in Spartanburg, I was at a restaurant and this guy in a lifted Dodge Ram, nearly hit me and my son in the parking lot because he didn't see, us. We did a double take because it was Josh from the Moonshiner's show. Spartanburg has good and bad spots. I know one young lady who graduated from there to become a school teacher. She lived fairly close and commuted and I expect that they have a fair number of commuter students who start at a community college and finish up there. From what I knew, her parents were happy with her choice.
Local (northeast kid) went there had a very good freshman season but transferred back to northeast school after freshman year. Said he just didn't like the school area....,
