As most of you know, at the beginning of my Sophmore season I broke my Thumb on my throwing hand the day before tryouts but played the whole year in pain, not realizing it was broken. My junior year, during our FIRST scrimmage in NJ, I broke my finger sliding/tripping into 2nd base on my first Varsity AB (Which was a double). I was out for the season. Today I rolled my ankle and heard a pop/crack. My friend carried me to the car and I drove to my aunts. Shes a nurse and her friend is one also. The both looked at it and said, "Broken" right away. Well I got X-rays and the doc said Its not broken, and all of the swelling on the left side of my left foot was blood, and I had to wait for it to dissipate. Tryouts begin on Monday. Last week In Fl. I thought I broke my thumb when I heard snapping after a dive for a ground ball, but it turned out to be a severe sprain....I know im venting, but I just can't seem to start a season and play the whole way through....
Does anyone know anything I can do to help a foot sprain? The swelling was on the left side of the left foot, in the middle. It has gone down with icing. The ankle doesn't hurt at all, which is wierd, but the foot does. I am staying home from school tomorrow and putting no pressure on it except for a little, which the doc recomended. I plan on icing it and taking Ibuprofen as the doc reccomended.
Thanks
Chris
