Canes at Fort Myers WWB

Day 2 was good to the Canes.

Canes Baseball won 2: 10-1 vs. FL Pokers Navy and 6-0 vs. Upper Deck Cougars. Standouts on the day:

Josh Sborz was 1-4 with an RBI single.
Matt Campbell was 2-5 with a triple and 2 RBI.
Josh Henderson hit several hard "at 'em" balls.
Kyle Moore was 1-4 with a single.
Christian Younce was 2-4 with 2 singles and 2 RBI.

Canes Prospects work their way into the playoffs with 2 good wins.

Connor Jones threw 3 solid innings in relief.
Brandon Lowe was 3-5 with a bases clearing triple.
Connor Henderson was 2-4 with a 2 RBI.

Va Boys are doing very well on a national stage. Canes Baseball play South Charlotte Panthers and Canes Prospects play Chet Lemon's Juice. Both games at 11:30am.

Canes Baseball wins 1st round pool play game in dramatic fashion against the South Charlotte Panthers. After trailing 4-0, the Canes tied it in the 5th behind the hitting (and pitching) of Josh Sborz. They won it in the 7th with a walkoff single. Sborz sat 89-90 in his 3 innings of relief.

Canes Baseball bowed out in the round of 16 to FTB Mizuno Underclass in a time limit game, 5-3.

Canes Prospects advanced to the Elite 8 by winning the 1st 2 round of playoff games but ran out of gas against the 16U East Cobb Astros.

Can you explain the difference between "Canes Baseball" and "Canes Prospects"?

Have the "North" and "South" designations been supplanted?

No, we will still have North and South. We used Canes Baseball and Canes Prospects to differentiate between the 2 teams. Canes Baseball had many of the committed players in our 2012 class while Canes Prospects had more 2013's mixed in.
