This is what is happening with the elite 90 program John Cangelosi and some others are running.
SUNDAYS
we will play at UIC, St Joes, NIU, Kankakee JC, Illinois Weslyn, PG Tourney with in Cedar Rapids ,( three teams), Bradley, Illinois State, all Sundays, no overnights ,and a team in Jupiter.

Before Jupiter, invite tournys at U of Neb, and U of Kentucky.

Saturdays will be strictly workouts and drill work with the instruction coming in the form of four ex Big Leagues players and a handful of Ex Minor League guys. We limited it to 90 players and it is going to be good. Open to schools and Scouts.

We open up with a showcase the first day Aug 12th at Oak Forest HS then on Sundays we are out
at the schools and back that day. (90 kids split into 6 teams)

You can see the format on Johns site, www.cangelosibaseball.com

Good luck to all this Fall!

Very very excited about the players we have involved this Fall. Looks to be great competition, exposure to the college guys and quality instruction.
Duece,

How did your protégé do in the Cape? Your alumni have done well and speaks volumes for your program.

It’s great to see that you’re taking a team to Jupiter. BTW how did you guys do in East Cobb? Last I saw you were 3-0.

Any one looking for a fall program should check these guys out. You use to have to travel outside of the Chicago Metro area to find a program close to this one. This is all about development and exposure.

Good Luck and all the best to those involved.
Thanks Smokey,,

Brandon has been in a few games and has an ERA in the high two's. Threw three tonight and had 5 K's no runs. He is excited and is enjoying his experience. Funny story, His first outing he hit a couple guys, most likley nerves. He calls home and says mom, their not hitting me at all , I'm hitting them... He is the second youngest kid out there.
We went 4-2 with the 18's and 3-1 two ties with the 17's . Ran out of gas in the 18's, but we really hit the ball well. The PG Tournament was our first and we eally enjoyed it.. Really impressed with the professionalism of all the people involved with them. Great fields, great exposure, good blues, and some very good talent. We are planning on taking three teams from our Fall Program to the PG Colonols tournament in Ia and one to the biggie.
The fun is just starting....Say hello to your family..
Best Wishes,
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Deucedoc and his coaching staff for their time, effort, committment, respect and heart this past summer season. My son has been on a number of travel teams in past summers, but none like the Cangelosi/Illinois Orioles. Deuce has always put the kids and the program first and is always working for those kids. That in itself is worthy of great respect. No kids of his own in the program and none on the horizon and still working hard on the field and on the phones. (Man, I would hate to have your cell phone bill.) I know there were times this summer when you must have been thinking, what am I doing? But know this, many players and parents saw your efforts first hand and we will be indebted to you for many years to come. You are honest, you respect the players, you respect your opponents, you respect the GAME the way the GAME should be respected. You also taught the kids to be committed, work hard, have heart and to have that same respect you displayed.
Because of loyalty, my son will be returning to the Midwest Blazers this fall, but looks forward to returning to the Orioles next summer to one of the best teachers he has ever had.

Thanks again Deuce, you can be proud of the lives you touch and the program you run. My son Nick is a better ball player and better person for having played for you.

I want to echo the same sentiments as Seedthrower. My son also had the privilege of playing for Duece this summer with the 18's. I am only sorry that we didn't get together with him and Coach Reynolds a year earlier...they are both terrific baseball teachers and men. Both worked hard with all of the players and treated each of them fairly, especially with playing time...not easy when all of them are used to being the stars of their respective high school teams. But again, it probably goes to the character of player that they select for their teams and then the character they themselves display on and off the field.

I know Duece has helped my son get ready for pitching at the next level beginning in a couple of weeks. Plus, I know that he will continue to follow all of the kids as well as continue to develop more great talent for college baseball and beyond. He has a genuine interest in every player.

Finally, and probably most impressively, there isn't a college coach or scout that doesn't have something glowing to say about him.

Thanks again.
I would dido all the kind words mentioned about DUECE. Like the others, my son has had the opportunity to play this season with DUECE and will be playing next season with him too. He sacrificed his personal time this summer to ensure the kids would get the training and exposure to play at the next level. For him, it is all about the kids!!!! He is on the phone all the time and like others have said, all the college coaches have nothing but positive things to say about him. Also, a special thanks to coach Reynolds and especially to Kelly, our number one fan!!!!

After reading all of these "praises" I think one should realize Deuce Doc's best quality----
washing dishes for his beautiful new wife"
in all seriousness- it is good to see these comments from parents and friends of the games especially when a man sacrifices alot of things personally to benefit these kids....He is a gentleman, a scholar of the game, and a master of teaching the game....and most of all conducts himself and his team in a professional manner at all times on the field... Unfortunately Travel Baseball will probably lose him soon..He would make a tremendous asst coach at the college level!!!!
What parent wouldn't want their kids associated with someone like Bill and John Cangelosi....??? It should be a no brainer.
good luck this fall deucedoc to you and John
in teaching the game the right way!!!
Now that we have identified that we are the only five or six guys on this site, thanks!

It was a pleasure having the oppurtunity to have coached your boys this season. Each of them will have good futures at the College level and possibly beyond.

I am humbled by all your kind words but respectfully put the credit where it is due, and that is the way your kids conducted themselves with us. When you have some talent it has a tendency to make the coach look better then he is. In my case I had a super group of kids and parents.. And like I have said on here before, there are a lot of guys who give of their time for the kids, we are all the same. Giving back some of what was given to us, to me thats what its all about, regardless the level.
A few additional sentiments about the Cangelosi Orioles and Bill Copp. . . My son had the opportunity to play on Bill's team last summer. I can only echo the thoughts of the previous posts by saying that he, too, learned a great deal about the game from truly professional coaches (who know the game and who selflessly devote their time and talents to coaching and helping the recruitment of athletes). My son is looking forward to Bill's fall Elite 90 program (which seems to have an impressive roster of players involved) and another summer playing on the O's in 2007!
We are excited about gearing things up next week in what looks to be a very competitive Fall program.
I am personally looking forward to getting my hands dirty with some of the finest players in the area.
I am also looking forward to working the bases with Billy in Jupiter this October.

Just some of the names in our developement and exposure league...
Blair, Tomkins, Fillipitch, Faidley, Sexton,
Blair, Coleman, Roberts, Tokarski, Flannagan,
Allen, Doyle, Kaminska, Kaczmarek, Sivertson,
Debarnardis, Beckman, Kovach, DeMarco, Branisel,
Pudlo, Laing, Vecelli, Hoffman, Sawicki, Oates, Kimbro, Heaney, Frigo, McQuillan, Conroy, and 70 more..

See you at the meeting.
Dodgers

I'll have to second that, it was very good day at Northern ....

But what is being left off from all these supporting messages is the fact that the players are getting the exposure that was offered/promised from this fall program.

I know for a fact that there were at least 4 colleges present today and scouts from the Yankees, Cubs, Reds and Tampa Bay.

The previous weeks I know of four players that were offered and gave verbal commitments to colleges.

And a number of offers pending.

Keep up the good work Cangi!
The league is 07's and 08's. It's different from other leagues in that there's a practice/workout on Saturday followed by the games on Sunday. Even the games involve some teaching. I'm not sure how you compare it to TT, TT doesn't have a league.

Exposure to college and pro scouts has been great. As a dad who likes to watch baseball it's been great to see a lot of guys I've heard about but haven't had a chance to see.
I also have to echo the statements of how well everything was set-up at NIU yesterday. Bill, you're correct as far as the lage # of people who attended on Sunday and how NIU could've made additional income by have the concessions open. Despite the shaky weather at the start of the day, I'm definitely thankful that I did attend.
As previously stated by several scouts, coaches and players- Cangelosi Baseball with Bill Copp and John Cangelosi remain the BEST in this area...Their teams continue to show class, respect for the game and their opponents...
but still rank at the top as far as talent is concerned..
The Fall program has good coaches involved...besides Copp and Cangelosi--who all have the same qualities--working to help the kids improve their game and EXPOSURE...
Congrats on a great job at Rockford guys...continuing the philosophy of helping the KIDS and putting their best interests above your own personal goals and egos...
