I am bursting with excitement!!!! Want to play this up big and have balloons on the house, but also want to be humble. . .

Son's HS team has just won their first in the 50 yr history of the school Region Championship! Record is 19-5 (14-1 Region).

Double-header yesterday. First game 13-3, second game 10-2.

Zach pitched game two with 10 K's and NO walks.
Teammate broke school record for the most RBIs in a season and Zach broke the school record for the most runs scored in a career!

But, even more exciting and thrilling is the fun these boys are having and the mission they seem to be accomplishing. You see, in January, the coach was told he would not coach next year. They (I guess "principal") wanted to take the program "in a different direction". Most can see the underlying politics. Coach has taken team to state playoffs three years in a row and each year advanced a little further.

But that is okay. We are taking it in a different direction ~ Region Championship and all the way to State!!!!!

I am so proud of all the boys!!!!!

What fun memories they are creating. Big Grin

lets us know how they're doing.

For all of your requests ~ an update ~

First Round State Playoffs Tonight ~

Won both games ~

Game One 9 - 0
Game Two 15 - 2

Entire team did well ~ Zach pitched second game ~ Had 9 strikeouts, with 6 walks and two unearned runs. Neat part though is ~ twice bases were loaded and he was able to get out of the inning ( the first time with 3 strikeouts, next time, 1 strikeout, flyout, and grounder to first)!

Had 2 RBIs in the first game, run scored and second game had an RBI and two runs scored.

Second Round . . . here we come. . . get to play at home, also!!

What an exciting time! This is so special for the entire team. Every team member can now say they have "played in a state playoff game" (except the one who just had surgery).
