I got new Wilson charcoal shin guards and two Ultimate Ball Bags for Christmas (Thanks to my lovly wife) from Ump-Attire. Now I am just itching and can't wait to get out on the field again!!! Gotta LOVE this game!!!
Son is leaving for school this afternoon. He got message from coach this morning about practice schedule starting Monday (NAIA). His last college season, hopes are high, and we are hoping for post season play. First game Feb. 4th. Let's get this season rolling.
AZ HS season is also gearing up with camps starting in the next few weeks. Tryouts are a week later this coming year, February 7-9 with the scrimmage a few weeks later and the first real games before the end of the month.
It just needs to stay light a little longer for those Chandler schools too cheap to buy lights...
Can't wait but in Jersey my first scrimmage is March 12th....good thing I have a clinic to go to! Keep reading that rule book, and anything else NFHS related, I can get my hands on
Make sure you are completely up to speed on FED's new bat regulations and any alterations or exceptions your state has made to those regulations.
You will, no doubt, be challenged at one time or another this season on these rules. Know them well, make sure your association is consistent in its knowledge and enforcement and ignore any claims from coaches that they have been given some information you do not have.
Great point on new bat regulations. I am not going to do high school this spring however I included a link from the FHSAA site on bat regulations and I have been told high school is gonig to wait until fall of 2011 to require BBCOR bats (composites are out)....there seems to be a lot of back order from vendors on the BBCOR bats.

California is enforcing the new bat regs a year early...kind of.
