Great Bridge 9 Cape Henry 4 at Harbor Park this afternoon.

Cape Henry pitched Wynkoop for innings 1-4 (left in the 5th with runners on and no one out), a tall righty for the 5th and part of the 6th and a third pitcher for the rest of the 6th. (apologize I don't have their names).

Great Bridge pitched by committe; S.Bienlien (1+ innings), L.Harrelson (innings 2-4), B.Beard (5th), Con Jones (6th), Coop Jones (7th).

Last time I remember a high school game starting 2 lefties 6'5" and taller.

Jack Wynkoop pitched 4 1/3 innings. He left in the 5th with a 4-3 lead and no one on (Cody had just flied out to left field). Shawn Poppin came in and finished out the inning without difficulty. The sixth inning was a different story with 3 BB, a hit batter, two hits, catchers interference, and an error leading to 6 runs and a 9-4 Great Bridge lead. Michael Kroll came in with two men on and one out to close out the inning without allowing anymore runs. Great Bridge pitched by committee with Connor Jones and Cooper Jones looking particulary strong in the sixth and seventh innings. Great Bridge was the better team and took advantage of their opportunities. Cody, Beard and Mathews combined for 7 of their 9 hits. Cape Henry had plenty of opportunities but couldn't convert leaving 13 runners stranded. Cape Henry hasn't played a game in 9 days and that appeared to have an effect on their level of play - a normally solid defensive team allowed at least 4 unearned runs and maybe more depending on how plays were scored.
