In terms of academics, compares favorably with NESCAC. Carleton Baseball sort of middle of the pack usually. The MIAC is a very dynamic conference, with with a mix of rural and urban. Carleton, St. Olaf, and Macalester are the academic standouts. Proximity of institutions means almost every road trip is reasonable, and all MIAC coaches are very mindful of the academic goals and demands facing their athletes.

If you are flexible, I would definitely include St. Olaf in your considerations. Their baseball coach is also the AD, and a rock-solid coach and person. Grinnell is another Midwestern standout, which has also invested significantly in its baseball facilities.
