Anyone familiar with this league. Just wondering what it is like in comparison to the other summer leagues.

I coached in this league last summer with the Central VA Blue Sox. Overall the competition is DII average, in my opinion. There are some DI players on the various teams along with DII and DIII players. Travel is not to bad, about 4 hours tops from the furthest teams apart. Wood bat league, so pitchers get to enjoy it a little more than some of the hitters. As far as I know the teams all charge a players fee, which will vary according to the team. On average, the schedules were double headers on Saturday, and on Sunday with a mid week double header also.

I have a college teammate who is going to be playing in this league I believe. Anyone with any more info? Just out of curiosity

Actually, some of the teams play out of league against the Coastal Plains Teams and do quite well.
