I am not an ump - but it looked like a catch to me. Guess that is why they use trained certified guys.
The only way it's a catch is if the release of the ball is voluntary and intentional. Doesn't look like that to me. Good call.

I'm not an umpire, but IMHO he never had control of the ball and it came out.

Granted the "no voluntray release" is not the same as "never had control of the ball" but I think when you look at a play like this it amounts to the same thing.
