Already have an All Star mask and chest protector (only NOCASE available at the time).  Need to replace the shin guards, current set is Mizuno.  Looking at the All Star shin guards and they are expensive.  Are they worth the extra expense?

What size would be typical for a 6'1" catcher?

Need to measure the shin length. When son was 6' flat, he already needed their XL size. He's now 6'3 and they are still working fine. If his shin is too long for the guard, the connectors will fail much faster. And +1 for worth the $, their customer care is second to none in our experience.

My son is 6'1" and is using the large legs. If he grows anymore we'll be  buying the next size up. Those will fit him now, they are just a little big and clumsy where the current size is just right. I would recommend trying on someone else's just to make sure.

As Senna mentioned, their customer service should win an award. They truly care about their customers and take pride in every set of gear they send out. A few years ago my son had a clip fail within a week of purchase. They overnighted a "loaner" set until his custom replacement was ready. Once ready they told me to keep the loaner set. They also sent me a pre-paid box to ship the old ones back so they could examine them and see why they failed.
