Hello ~ my son's catching coach told him that his catcher's mitt was going to need to be replaced before entering high school because it is two toned, black and orange. Where do I find out if that is indeed true? It's kind of weird to email the HS coach when he isn't at the school yet (8th grader), but I can if I need to.
Is it posted somewhere that a catcher's mitt needs to be one color?

There's nothing in FED that prohibits this mitt.
Agree that mitt is legal. Does the coach have published team rules specifying the colors of all uniforms and gear?
Thanks for the replies. I certainly can't find anything on the website specifying colors. I may just have to email him and ask him if there are any specifications. I just thought that might be weird since he isn't there yet, but, if he needs to break in a new mitt, I wanted to have that head start.
