Is it legal in Virginia High School baseball to wear a pro style half mask with skull cap instead of the hockey style mask?

Probably not because under the National Federation of High Schools rules code all catchers helmets must be of one unit that covers the ears. So in that case the pro style skull cap and facemask would be illegal. There are only two states that don't play under NFHS rules - Texas and I think Vermont. So based on that he has to use the hockey style mask rather than the pro style.
