birthdays and anniversaries celebrated this weekend along with giants and patriots football and my stepsons longtime friend Carlos Pena signing for another mlb season---now for the real reason to celebrate------
after a year of arduous therapy to overcome the aftermath of a series of strokes and being told that I would never walk again the wheelchair and the walker went into storage yesterday as I began walking with a cane and needing no assistance---talk about being ready for the baseball season---as jim valvano said a few years back--- never give up-- never give up! AFTER THE BIRTHDAY CAKE, my 70th--There will be a big toast to the medical staff involved in this adventure for all their efforts and especially my great wife who supported me and kept pushing me right thru my first steps yesterday----BOY DOES IT FEEL GOOD
