I haven't seen either play this year, but I think its hard to compare them. Matoaca returned every starter and most of those guys are multiple year starters. This is the year that they've been waiting for. A better comparison to Dinwiddie this year would be Thomas Dale. Both are pretty good, but lost some key guys last year. Whether or not either is capable of hanging with Matoaca remains to be seen. We'll find out soon enough. Matoaca started like a team that believes they are #1. I guess what is scary is that Matoaca pitched their 3rd or 4th pitcher vs. Monacan....

TD opened up yesterday with a 6-0 win over Varina. Cullen threw a no-hitter with double digit K's. Dale struggled a bit at the plate, though.

Matoaca is pretty scary once they get healthy- TD seems to always find a way to knock them off.
Last time it was "matoaca's year" it was Monacan that knocked them off on their way to a State Championship

Matoacas biggest challenge may be seeing consistently good pitching during the season leading up to the Regional tournamnet-

Wonder if Matoaca and MAnchester play in their tournamnet over Spring Break?...that could be a real showdown
