just received a revised bracket and it is Colonial v Dominion and Central vs Capital

I have wondered about the matchups also. If you followed the rotation from previous years it would seem to be for this year Colonial vs. Dominion and Capital vs. Central matchups. The first round matchup’s were in 2009 Dominion vs. Colonial, in 2010 Dominion vs. Central, and in 2011 Dominion vs. Capital. However, I believe the tournament director did release the schedule as shown on the link I provided. Perhaps he will issue a correction soon.
Here is the email which was sent out:

"PLEASE PASS ON TO ALL SPRING TEAM SPORTS!

IT HAS BEEN BOUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION THAT THE TOURNAMENT ROTATION IN OUR REGION HANDBOOK THAT SAYS ALL TEAM SPORTS OTHER THAN BASKETBALL UPDATED 9/22/11 IS WRONG. PLEASE NOTE THE MATCHUPS FOR BASEBALL,SOFTBALL,BOYS S****R AND GIRLS S****R FOR THIS YEARS REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS STARTING DURING THE WEEK OF MAY 28. THE FOLLOWING IS THE SAME PAIRINGS USED FOR VOLLEYBALL AND FIELD HOCKEY IN THE FALL.

COLONIAL 1 VS. DOMINION 2

DOMINION 1 VS. COLONIAL 2
CAPITAL 1 VS. CENTRAL 2

I believe Chris Childress would be considered Hanover's best pitcher. He threw both games this year against Lee-Davis and at least one against Atlee. My guess is he will also win POY for the Capital District.

On a side note- does anybody know where Childress will be attending college? He should have some solid options but I have heard nothing about his intentions.

Not sure I totally agree with you, and thats taking nothing away from Childress, however Mike Thomas deserves it based on his pitching, AND his overall performance in the field and at the plate. A 5 tool player..
We've played a ton of games at Shepherd, and something about it I just really like. Maybe it's the cheap concession stand food that is actually good. (BBQ is homemade...). Maybe it's because I always run into someone I know. Maybe it's the "town ball park" feel with the stands etc.

I stopped by one day last year or year before and they were playing Legion Regionals or something there. While I've had a a few of my guys hit it out there, this kid (From NJ I think) hit one OVER the next in LF. Longest ball I've ever seen hit there.

I love Shepherd Stadium as well, there is just something about it. Great place to play and watch a game. At first I thought their BBQ was from Kings down the street, but somebody told me at a Legion game there (a few years ago) that it was homemade. Can't beat that!

Okay so you obviously don't watch many capital district games if you think that. Childress beat Thomas TWICE! In both games Childress had at least one hit off Thomas as well plus an RBI to go with it. Thomas reached base once on an error in their first match up. That alone should sell you for who deserves it not to mention Childress had a better batting average and pitching record than Thomas. Then to wrap it all up Hanover won the Capital District regular season. All that together is why Childress was player of the year. Thomas had a great season don't get me wrong but it wasn't better than Chris Childress.
