CF5 -3 or Voodoo Black -3?

Bill, does your son have or has he had the opportunity to swing both bats. If he is able, I would do so first. Then purchase the one he feels comfortable swinging, there is a difference between these 2 bats.

No he hasn't. Won't be able to.

between those two Demarini CF5 -3, both good bats look also at the Easton XL1.

I know the CF5 is a full composite, 2 piece design, balanced with a longer barrel compared to the Voodoo Black, 2 piece, alloy, that has a balanced feel also.
Its more of a preference to players and swing weight.

People I know that swing both say save the $100.00 extra and go with the Voodoo. It holds up well.

Mood Jr went with the 33' Voodoo over the Marucci Black. Very very happy. Loves the feel and the balance. 6-12 in the young season with two doubles and a homer. Also two warning track shots. Plenty of pop with solid contact from the Voodoo.

My son had the CF4 (BESR) last year and loved it. Got him the CF5 this year and he likes it even more. Best advise is to try to get somewhere that he can swing it since it is such a personal decision that no matter what anyone says here, it is what he feels comfortable with. So much of this game is psychological that if your son feels like it is the best bat he has ever swung, his results will hopefully prove him right.
