A friend with a son who plays for a Texas JUCO told me there were 85 scouts at her son's game this past weekend. I am not that familiar with JUCO ball, but that number sounded huge to me.
I am wondering if the newly-reduced roster size rule is causing 4-year programs to put much more recruiting emphasis on JUCO players than in the past. Perhaps these programs are wanting to go for "proven" JUCO players rather than take a gamble on unproven high school players since they can sign only a few each year?
