This showcase is strickly invite only correct? If dad has a deep wallet will that help? I guess you will find out who the top players in Chicago area are based on who gets invites. Who does the selecting for these teams?
always seems like you refer to kids on the same travel team that your associated with. Maybe they were invited and had other plans, the list looks pretty good to me so far and I am sure there will be more. Anytime there's showcases or invited events it seems people are always complaining.
exactly, or maybe their fall league team didn't want them to miss games, who knows. Point is there's always critics but there's also always kids that turn these things down. It's an opportunity lost but some kids might be busy and it opens up an opportunity for someone else. I am sure it's not full either, there's probably room for more players. The point is there's always someone complaining about this guy or that guy not getting invited to something.
i just check last year's roster and the only player who was not invited yet drafted was Bilio from Sandburg, yet i count, including william argo, 13 players drafted. i didnt even count the college kids who participated in year's past who were drafted. i talked with bob symkowski from the philles and he told me he recommended 10 kids to this event and I see four of his recommendations on the roster.
Very well run event. More Pro Scouts in attend. Not as many colleges. Blair Springfield (MacArthur)looked good with the bat, strong arm in RF. Hirsch and Crowley impressive on hill. Not a hitters day, only a few quality at bats, Kevin Finney Currie High School had the best hit of the day. Blake Brown Normal West showed bat speed and base path speed & instincts. Tim Barry can swing it, avg.arm. Esquivel seemed to have the scouts attention. Chris Hickman Simeon had a nice swing. Koziol Brother Rice is an athlete!

Adam Walker II, Milwaukee Lutheran, who was at the showcase, has apparently given a verbal to Jacksonville. He is an amazing athlete and a big stick. The showcase lists him at 3B but he is predominantly a catcher for his high school team. He hit .569 with 8 HR during his junior year. Congratulations, Adam!
Adam was sick a few days before the showcase and called to cancel. The scout who recommended him wanted him worked out at 3rd base. Adam is a great person as well.
