Clearinghouse Question

Hi,

Son has already committed to a JUCO and signed a NLI.

His grades improved dramatically over the course of his senior year. Is it okay to get him registered and cleared through the clearinghouse, or will that affect his JUCO eligibility?

I don't see why it would affect his JUCO eligibility in any way unless he ended up signing with a 4 year school and not attending the JUCO at which point you'd presumably no longer care.

Get him registered! Suppose he ends up wanting to transfer to a D1 from the JC before graduating. To do that without sitting a year, he needs to be an academic qualifier. I believe that will be easier to establish now rather than later.

There is definitely no effect on his JC eligibility.
