This is directed at piaa_ump but all can answer. We had a game Friday get halted at the start of the second inning. We played Monday and so did the other halted team. The halted teams coach gets thrown out on Monday. Our halted game is finished on Tuesday where the coach who was thrown out does not sit out. Should he have sat out the continued game?

Suspensions for subsequent games for being ejected are not a baseball rule but rather a jurisdictional rule. Most areas have such. You are right however that perhaps piaa could answer better for your area since he is a Penn. guy and would likely be more familiar with the rules there.

In my area, if a coach or player is ejected we file a report stating the situation and facts of the ejection but after that it's up to the league or Section as to how it's handled. The standard here is a one game suspension. How it might be handled with a suspended game in between is anyone's guess. As umpires we don't keep track of that.

Pilsner is right on for us here in PA as well.....If a coach is ejected in a game, the umpire must file an ejection report with the PIAA within 24 hours.

Pilsner states it best when he says that suspensions for subsequent games for being ejected are not a baseball rule but rather a jurisdictional rule....

After the report is filed it's up to the PIAA as to how it's handled. The standard here is also a one game suspension.

As umpires we dont usually know who has been ejected previously and would have no idea if the coach was to sit out or not. Its not within our scope of responsibility to deal with.....

This probably doesnt help much..
