Is there any rule about opposing coaches yelling at our batters during an at bat? Calling out wrong pitches and other things when the ball is on the way? The guy was outside the dugout no more than 30 feet away from home. We were playing under modified NFHS rules. It was obviously bush league but was there anything our coach could do to shut up the guy short of pounding on him? The umpiring crew didn't seem to care and never said a thing.

A maximum of two offensive coaches are allowed on the field any time the ball is live. Everyone else needs to be in the dugout. No exceptions. Ever see a major league manager or NCAA D1 coach outside the dugout on a bucket, or standing? Never. Not once.

piaa has the rule.

"A coach...shall not commit any unsportsmanlike act to include, but not limited to..." That's all you need to shut it down.

PENALTY: Eject, restrict or warn (umpire choice).
