Coach Working With Pitchers And Catchers

Our high school baseball program (I am an assistant coach) does not have someone that solely works with Pitchers and Catchers. I know this is a weakness of a program. Do you guys struggle with the fact that you do not have someone who specializes in coaching a certain position or positions (IF/OF/Hitting)? I know we as coaches can learn, because I did not play IF, but I think I do a decent job teaching the positions, but do you struggle at times with not having someone to really focus and emphasize on a certain component of your program. Thanks guys, great stuff on here.

At times yes, but I have learned to adapt. If you do not have a pitching guy go be the best pitching guy you can be. In regards to practice time we have staggered our starting times so that we can focus on the pitching position before practice has even started.
