I would love to hear from coaches who for the most part, are in great situations. Maybe you are tremendously supported by your administration, most all of the parents, have great relationships with most of your players, etc... I know we all deal with "stuff," but I would like to hear some positive testimonies, because the negative, although very real, does get depressing. Thanks.
I have a love and passion for this game, and I want to be a great coach!!!

We have over 30 kids in our program between our V and JV teams and there is not one that I don't enjoy being around. I get to teach all these young men (including cabbage) life lessons under the guise of coaching baseball. Our field is situated in as beautiful a setting as you will find. Our weather is almost always perfect for baseball. Every time the anthem is played, I take a moment and think how lucky I am to be there.

A friend and I (me - the asst.) took over the program right before the start of last year. The team was coming off a 4-17 record and dead last in league with not much promise and not much time to make a big impact from a W-L standpoint for the first season. The team hadn't seen success since moving to a bigger league 7 years ago.
Fast forward to today... we have a team playing winning baseball 13-8, 5-4 in league and a good chance at post season play. We have players believing in themselves and each other and enjoying competing and playing good baseball. We have been competitive in every game.
In addition, we have improved our facilities and game environment considerably and we're starting to see the community respond - crowds are getting bigger.
More athletes at our school are starting to show interest in baseball and we appear to be poised for additional improvement for at least the next few years.
Do we experience many of the same problem issues others elude to on this site? Of course. But Nicholas had a great idea to shift the focus for a while.

Life is good. Baseball is good.
