Loudoun County High School in Leesburg Va is looking for a new coaching staff.

I would bet that that's a tough one to fill. I don't really see that program getting much stronger any time soon. Nothing against the program at all but I think that they are middle of the pack for some time to come...

Its hard to say with this program. Coaching kind of held them back the past few years so I am not sure anyone got to see what kind of players they had. There are definitly some challenges, but you do have some pitching, 3 pretty good lefties and Frazier if he can come back from injury. A very solid catcher in Martin and Carolyn gives them a solid bat and first baseman. Beyond that we will see.
I heard a similar rumor that he was transferring to Flint Hill. Either way that is a tough blow to LCHS's roster.

What injury is Frazier coming back from?

I have to agree with NOVABBall13 LCHS has some talent with players but not enough to truly make a difference. The new coaching staff will have their work cut out for them on improving the program that was left in disarray. I look forward to seeing what the coaches are able to do with this program.

Harrison at PH? What happened to Nuckols?

Only rumor on Nuckols from what I hear (so no repeat), but he is no longer coaching the BB team as of the end of last season (he told the kids on team at the end of the year).

I thought it interesting that Harrison may consider coming back to the region. Was actually hoping that someone would elaborate the rumor, but since there was no activity, I assume it was incorrect or or quite for a reason.

I was/am just a curious. No vested interest.
So the Centerville baseball coach is leaving. I know their team had some good players, but I always thought they were short on pitching. Also, I never liked how the coach over-used some of his pitchers. I saw one Centerville game where he left a starting pitcher in for over 150 pitchers to pick up a win.

A new coach can certainly make a difference. This was proven last spring in the very same school district. Robinson HS hired a new coach (James) who had a previous State Title and a winning pedigree.

The new coach must have known what he was doing.
Because of injuries and other factors, his lineup for most of the season had him batting only two seniors, starting five sophomores and one JV call-up freshman. This was the lineup he used for the majority of the season.

Originally, I thought he was just playing out the season to get an idea who to play next year. Not surprisingly, his team took some lumps early in the season, but the pitching (mainly seniors) held them in games. The team improved and ended up winning their District Title.

I'm not sure if the Robinson team will be as good next year, but I was impressed that the coach was willing to play so many younger players during his first year coaching the team. This strategy appeared to payoff later in the season. Now each of these players will have a District Title and most importantly, a year of actual playing experience under their belt.
Centreville coach has already left and job is open. I agree that CVHS' problem has been lack of pitching depth. They've had some arms, but the previous coach seemed reluctant to take some lumps in order to develop pitching, leaving them short of arms and with tired arms at the end of every season. Future of the program is with a deep sophomore class with lots of arms ready to be developed. Next coach will need to take some lumps early to develop those kids, but they could be pretty good by 2014.
