Saw that as well. Big get for Sun Belt baseball I think.
Not sure I understand the lateral move for baseball. The travel looks to be the same (possibly more) and they are moving to an equal RPI ranked conference (Big South's RPI was higher in 2015 but lower in 2014 than Sun Belt). If there is a good reason it most likely has to do with football or basketball.

Boy, there's a shocker, huh!!
If I ever saw baseball drive one conference realignment or significant conference decision (i.e. changing composition of divisions within a conference), I'd fall out of my chair.
Definitely a FCS to FBS football move. I would hope more money and that it would be spread around - thus benefiting baseball.

Fenway,
I simply cannot let your cynicism go unchallenged. I am sure the decision has nothing to do with money and everything to do with a careful analysis of how best to fulfill the highest ideals of enriching academic experience through amateur athletic competition.

I just spit coffee all over my keyboard. Thanks, man.

They must of had NCAA guidance then if they are looking out for the student-athlete!
Like those one year renewable at school's option scholarships for example???
The move is for football enabling Coastal to move from D1-AA to D1-A. Sorry don't know FBS and all those cra-polla acronyms.
I am guessing Coastal Baseball is delighted with the move however. There appears to be better teams at the top of that conference.
Swampboy - Thanks for starting my day with a big chuckle.
