2014OFKid,
All of the baseball players at my sons HS received that invite letter last fall.No one on our team went to the camp, but my son has a friend from another school who did go.That player did not enjoy the experience and felt it was nothing more than a money maker.More players than the camp could handle.
The same invite letter came the other day to our house.Only this time it was from the OKWU coach. Last year the letter came from one of the coaches at Ohio University.LOL!
If your son is a 2014 grad I'm not sure how much benefit this camp would be.Pepperdine,UC Irvine,Cal State Fullerton, and Cal Poly are most likely finished with their 2014 recruiting classes.Ohio University has no California players on their roster,The California players on OKWU's roster are JC transfers.Dixie State's roster is made up primarily of JC transfers, and Chaffey College is a JC in Rancho Cucamonga.
I would suggest that your son ask some questions to the coach(s) that he is communicating with .Ask him if they have finished their 2014 recruiting class. If not, what positions are you looking to fill ? How many players will you carry on your roster, and how many players do you typically have at the fall workouts ? Where would I fit in with your recruiting class ?
The answers you receive will tell you whether or not you should plunk down your hard earned dough on this camp.
Hope this helps and good luck to your son.
