Talked with a young lady who just finished up JUCO FP and is going on to play at a four year school. I asked about bats and she said she swung a 32/22. I thought that was kind of small, but most of the team used this model - Louisville Xeno.
Are minus 10 bats common in college fastpitch? And is a model that small fairly common among older girls? On the other hand, she is around 5'6", so maybe that is about right.
My daughter used a 32/22 in college. She's 5'10". The ball is coming off the hip from 43 feet in the upper 60's. Pitches may be faster now. I stopped watching after she stopped playing six years ago. If you've watched LL games on tv upper 60's is comparable to low 90's from 46 feet. Softball is three feet closer. Plus the ball coming off the hip is harder to pick up than coming overhand. Add in a strong, quick girl is not as strong and quick as a guy.
