I think the answer to this depends.

A lot of people do PG years because of academics. It gives you another year of AP classes, and a chance to get your GPA and test scores up higher. If you look at the Ivy League schools, many of their players took this route to help them get into the school.

Another reason would be to develop more as a player. This is definitely more subjective, and is more dependent on how hard you work. Having another year doesn't automatically make you a better player.
Gmo5 - You need to clarify what is better. Better schools? Academic schools? Athletic schools? What do you wish the schools had that haven't offered you compared to the schools that have offered you. Since you're looking at D3, you know they don't offer $. But, if you apply to where you want to go (assuming D3) and you get it, it's pretty likely you could make it on the team as a walkon.

Also, what's your financial situation? Are you able to afford essentially 5, if not 6, years of education?
