Anybody have any insite as to how playoffs are funded at the Regional and World Series level? Last year sons team made it as far as the D-2 Central Region Final and word on the street was that the reason they bused the 2 day trip was because the NCAA would only fund air-fare for a set number of players (25+/-) and not the entire team. The boys/coaches, in my opinion did the stand up thing and voted for the long bus ride so all could go. I've also heard the reason his team isn't going on a spring trip this year is because they are saving money to go on a hopefully long playoff run. Any body have any first hand knowledge on the matter?

Son's team made it all the way to a super-regional last year. Everything was as CPLZ describes. Meal money was marginal. They all got some sort of gift card from the NCAA when they got back to school this year. Don't know if it was because they made a regional or super-regional.

Don't the DI schools that host regionals and super-regionals have to make a guaranteed payment to the NCAA? Any idea what it was last year?
