I was looking into going to the College Select showcase and I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this showcase. Is there many schools there, what do you recommend.

My son Bobby attended the College Select Norwich, CT. showcase last summer. It was held at the field of the Connecticut Defenders, which was a terrific venue. We felt that the showcase was extremely well-organized both from an exposure and an informational standpoint. The teams were evenly divided and everyone got a substantial amount of playing time in multiple competitive games. There were quite a few coaches from New England and New York area colleges present, as well as several pro scouts. Even though Bobby was recovering from surgery and did not play particularly well at the showcase, he received several inquiries of interest from excellent New England schools following the showcase. I recommend calling Coach Tom Rizzi, who runs the showcase, and discussing with him any questions or concerns you might have. Best of luck to you this summer and throughout the recruiting process.

I've taken two sons to College Select and both times found the showcase to be extremely well run with plenty of opportunities for players to show their stuff. There is excellent attendence by coaches/scouts from all three college levels. Like it so much that we're going back again this year!
