Wow... almost 120 views and nobody has anything to offer on any of these programs?
OK, BBLefty21 - help us out here. Do you have specific questions about any of these schools? Do you want to know about facilities, academics, coaches, reputations, campus life? Let us know specifically what you want to know about these and maybe you'll get some replies.
I would just like to know about their reputations and the style of coaching. I am quite interested in Oakton right now and just met with coach fratto. thanks
Well, I know absolutely nothing about Oakton CC from a coaching perspective, but from an academic point of view, it's obviously a different way to go than a four year college. What are your academic goals and how do they fit with Oakton or any of the others you named?
i would like to head into some sort of business degree. the nice thing about oakton being a juco is obviously the price. for taking basic classes compared to 30k a year for the other schools. So I think it fits in well witht that aspect and just making sure all credits can be transfered to another college.
Sounds like you're on the right path. Hopefully someone here has more info on Oakton CC.
North Central is a beautiful campus... not cheap by any stretch, but they have a great baseball facility and you'll get a top rate education. I think the coach is somewhat new to the program?
Elmhurst I think also has a new(er) coach - knew a few kids who played under the former coach a few years ago, but don't know anything about the new guy.
The coaches at Elmhurst and NCC are relatively new. Both have nice campuses and degrees - but also have the tuition to justify both. The CCIW is a tough conference and usually sends at least one team to the WS.
Concordia (I think) moved into the new conference with Aurora and some WI schools - but you'll get to play some quality competition and that conference is finally eligible for an automatic bid.
Oakton is obviously the most affordable and presents that most fluid depth chart. It would stand to reason that the 3 schools above would still be interested after a year at Oakton, if you were to go that route and spend your freshman year getting some experience and pre-requisite courses.
