Just a comment about the Texas and Alabama fans:
There were numerous comments from each fan base complimenting both the Texas and Alabama fans on how much respect and class each group showed to each other out in Pasadena. One Texas fan stated there were many "barbs" thrown out in fun during the tailgate parties but very few showing disrespect. He said "outside of one very drunk Texas "b---h" it was probably the most enjoyable game he had attended. I'm sure not everyone agrees with his assessment but from my perspective it appears most realized it was two quality, tradition-rich championship programs competing.
Also, it seems you did not have many "bandwagon fans" willing to spend the $$$ to attend, making for a more supportive and respectful fan base.
I just love it when we all can have a lot of fun and just get along. Now, if only, these two teams could play in Omaha this year.

Kick back, it's story time with CPLZ...

Last year, Army drew the Austin Regional. On a college baseball board that I frequent, a Texas fan left me an email address and asked if I was coming...had never conversed with this person before.

Long story short, this guys runs a huge tailgate that his family has been doing for over 30 years at every Texas home baseball and football series...roasting two whole hogs type of huge. When the Army entourage arrives at his tailgate, they have set up a separate tent about 30 yards away and designated it, ARMY FANS. They brought us chairs, coolers full of soft drinks, and came and dragged us to their cookout when the chow was ready and made sure every Army Fan had a full plate of food and a beer in their hand...and they wouldn't take a nickel. There were probably 50-70 of us depending on the day.

This went on for three days.

I have never gone anywhere and been shown as much hospitality as that weekend regional in Austin. Sure makes it hard to root against Texas.
