He was far better than what we have had lately.

The one thing I remember most was when the Reds (at that time a dominant team) tried to deal with Finley and the A's for Vida Blue, and Kuhn stepped in and said that "in he best interests of baseball" he would not allow the deal. A lot of people thought he did that to make Walter O'Malley of The Dodgers happy. The Reds may have won a few more had they had Blue on their staff in the late 70's.

He seemed to really care about the game as much or more than the business.
