Commitment Question

I was looking at the Perfect Game list of the "Top 200+" players for the class of 2010, and noticed that a few of them are already committed to a college. How can this be, when they have not even played a game their sophomore year? Or, is this just an indication of where the player would LIKE to go? Or, have the rules changed?

Just curious, as LOTS can change over the course of the next two years.

Those are situations where the school has verbally made an offer to the player and the player verbally accepted. Nothing is in writing until signing day, fall of senior year. Up until that time the player can back out and the school can back out (highly unlikely).
