An absolutely first class event, well run to the max. West beat North for the bronze medal, and we didn't stay for the gold medal game between East and Central but all four squads were very well balanced; if they played all week, they'd likely all end up at about .500. North squad went 1-3, but the scores were 2-1, 3-1, 10-9 (w), and 4-3. All of the games were close throughout the weekend. Keep an eye on L.J. Hoes (St. Johns), a rising sophmore outfielder that played very well among some solid competition. Matt Bryant (Stafford) was 92-93 on the gun and hit 95 in the 7th inning of acomplete game 8 inning stint.

80 plus scouts present, almost all ACC schools except the Florida folks, all Virginia schools, some SEC, pro scouts, etc. Most seemed to stay at least through the first two games on Sunday. Local TV crews shot footage all weekend and good coverage was on the news each night.

Pitchers seem to have the upper hand a bit. We were told that hitting dominated prior years, but not this year. Lots of balls flew out in BP, but only 3-4 homers in the games up until the last game.
