Open "try-outs" are not held. The Athletic Director and coaching staff from Hanover HS meet in a room and make selections using All District / Region selections and phone calls to other coaches. 50 nominations are widdled to 16 with a list of alternates (not sure how many or if those are ranked in any order) and if a primary declines or can't attend then an alternate is chosen. Not sure why they do not hold open-tryouts?
Fritzy and All,

As I stated earlier, and as it was told to me by the AD Director at Hanover HS (Central Region coordinator), They do not hold open tryouts. A group of coaches get together in a room and mull over the 50 nominations that were recieved from Central Region Coaches. Each Central Region coach is allowed 2 nominations (some make one or none). They use the All Central District, All Central Region lists, and phone calls to other coaches to whittle the players down to a list of 16 (max amount allowed on a team). There is an alternate list in case a primary selectee is unable to attend or simply declines the invitation. I'm not sure, but I suppose the alternate list also has an order of selection.

I suppose there is something to be said for having both open or no tryouts. I personally like open.
Here is the team from "LAST YEARS" Central Region.
