According to Baum their bat has 2% more "pop" than a wood bat...FWIW. Not sure I belive it...

This is all conjecture on my son's part (and talking with other kids in the dugouts this summer/fall) but he says the Demarini's tend to be more dead, he did not like the bamboo's, he liked his Mizuno maple, and like's his Baum. Costs more but they are pretty indestructible.
We bought a Baum a couple months ago(sick of seeing the $100 maple bats breaking) and he absolutely loves it. It's very well balanced, not end weighted like his last Sam. As for pop - I've haven't seen a noticable difference but it does seem to come off the bat a little better - but that could be mostly due to the better balance and quicker bat speed. Good luck with the Demarini.....
