Do composite maple bats have more pop than the average maple? Durability is obviously a plus but what about performance?

According to Baum their bat has 2% more "pop" than a wood bat...FWIW. Not sure I belive it...
This is all conjecture on my son's part (and talking with other kids in the dugouts this summer/fall) but he says the Demarini's tend to be more dead, he did not like the bamboo's, he liked his Mizuno maple, and like's his Baum. Costs more but they are pretty indestructible.

dead eh? I just purchased one an hour ago. I'm hoping the demarinis you were talking about weren't broken in yet.
my son had a demarini maple 110 that lasted over 3 years and he feels it has more pop then the brett bros. he just bought.
We bought a Baum a couple months ago(sick of seeing the $100 maple bats breaking) and he absolutely loves it. It's very well balanced, not end weighted like his last Sam. As for pop - I've haven't seen a noticable difference but it does seem to come off the bat a little better - but that could be mostly due to the better balance and quicker bat speed. Good luck with the Demarini.....
My son loved his Demarini, lasted 2 + years before it grew legs; I am sure it is still working well for someone?
