Conference scholarship rules

I understand the athletic scholarship is a 1 year commitment. However, I have heard that a Big 10 scholarship can not be reduced during the player's 4 years with the team except for two reasons: 1) Grades 2) Conduct detrimental to the team.

I can not find any information on this Big 10 policy. Does anybody know about this?

It is not up to the conference. It is governed by the NCAA. They would never pass a rule like that. The coaches would freak.
