With all the focus we have had on the season and players committing, i just want to point out that most VA schools have now released admission decisions and i want to say congratulations to all those seniors out there not pursing college ball on acceptance into our fine VA schools for academic reasons!

DCHEAT..
it has everything to do with highschool baseball.
People like you are exactly what's wrong with world. Out of EVERY kid thats ever been mentioned on this site, less than 1% will make a living playing baseball.
and im sure you dont think it has anything to do with highschool baseball because youre probably one of those parents whose kid gets his grades padded so he can even make the 2.0 eligibilty
Sounds like some of you were grumpy about not having dates on a Saturday night.

How else to explain someone carping about a perfectly fine, kind expression of congratulations that applies to any number of the players and parents who frequent this site?

When you find yourself posting unnecessary negative comments late on a Saturday night, you should really consider going to bed and seeing if you don't awake in a better mood come Sunday.

Especially if you feel the need to go trans-continental to do it. This was in the Virginia forum, after all.

-Your ignorance is hilarious Bohn. Think that this doesnt apply to highschool baseball? Go ask your local highschool team and see how much they care about it.

-Once again, im sorry that your one of those parents whose son wont make it to college without baseball. Get at me in 10 years and tell me where hes at, because he wont be still playing baseball.

-This was just a simple discussion to congratulate the large number of all highschool BASEBALL PLAYERS who will not be attending college for baseball. If you dont like it, then YOU GTFO and go talk about your mustard to somebody else.

-Just as Midlo dad said, its disgusting that some of you have nothing better to do than bash what others have to say.. you say this is called hsbaseballweb, but really it should be called angryignorantfathersunited.org
I am a college graduate and my son quite frankly barely can make the high school team let alone make it to the next level. He will be just fine though because unlike you he has the ability to be a critical thinker and is quite intelligent. The reason I have a problem is that once again this is a high school baseball forum. DCHeat asked what this has to do with baseball and you attacked him and assumed that he was ignorant to the fact that academics are important. I am just here to let you know that DCheat is right, this site should be for baseball talk. Why come here and talk about academics or football or basketball or hockey or quidditch, quite frankly I don't care about any of that because I came to a baseball web site and assumed everyone in this community also came here for the same reason. You claimed that academics has everything to do with baseball can you tell me one way someones grades can affect their ability to play baseball. You will probably talk about needing the necessary GPA to play high school sports but that has no baring on someone's ability to play a game. There is always AAU ball and other outlets let baseball be baseball. Don't get it confused with anything else. The fact that people can't separate one thing from another is just a contributing factor to our society with misplaced priorities and unneeded stress.

Mr. College Graduate, I believe the word is bearing, not baring.

If it were strickly a high school baseball site, we would not discuss "college" debuts, "college" commitments, "college" scores, advances to the professional level, etc. I suspect most all of it, including the congratulations to which you so object, is of interest to the vast majority of those who visit this site. If you don't like it, you don't have to read it.

Critical thinker? You've still yet to realize that this IS about highschool baseball. For, if you say so, people like your son. People who have played baseball their whole young lives up to this point, and cannot cut it at the next level. These BASEBALL players do deserve congratulations because along with playing BASEBALL, they've been able to maintain themselves academically to get accepted into our great VA schools. So to once again prove my point, this has EVERYTHING to do with highschool baseball players. Just because i've failed to mention one of the studs that this site is known for doesnt make it not about BASEBALL. this is about the everyday, average varsity rightfielder who wont be playing college baseball, and to give him the congratulations they deserve.

But now, thanks to you, if a BASEBALL player like that were to read this, they would just see your ignorant comments about how it is not imporatant.

So yes, why would anyone EVER EVER come up here talking about academics? Let's show these kids that all anyone ever cares about is hitting .500 with 14 HRs. and when someone tries to acknowlede the average baseball player, he gets ridiculed.

You sir are the one with misplaced priorites.
Bohn,

I realize you're new here. Some of your presuppositions are not really correct.

Many of us have been conversing here for years now. We pull for each other lots of different ways. Sometimes we even do so publicly.

So, to the extent you thought it had to be about baseball, you assumed incorrectly.

I would point out, nobody said you had to read the non-baseball posts, much less comment on them, if these threads really bother you that much.

It's not like we're killing trees here. Cyberspace offers all sorts of discussions without wasting any resources.

And so it costs nothing for me to say here, that I truly think you may need some anger management therapy. Seriously, dude, there are things going on in this world worth getting PO'ed about. This thread was not one of them. Shame on you.
Wow!!! I just asked what did your post have to do with high school baseball? I did not say who cares or anything like that.
Just a simple question to help me get in touch with where you were going with the post. Please don't worry my son has a 3.25 GPA and has never been close to a 2.0 because if he was I would not let him play any sports, but thanks for your concern. He also has a great scholarship to college and has earn it in the classroom as well as on the field. With that being said my Saturday night was great Midlo if it was any of your business. How is your son's season going? I am surprised that intelligent folks like yourself jump on someone for asking a simple question. I guess I can understand you frustration though.
