Congrats indeed. But what record did he set?
I'm not sure but he's the 1st 2009 draftee outside of the 1st round to sign for 7 figures.
He has a very good agent.

Sure would have enjoy watching him in a Longhorn uniform for 3 years, but oh well you can not blame him for taking the money.

Rumor has it that his bonus was agreed to before the draft, as was Pirates fourth rounder, Baylor Bear signee, Zach Dodson.

I know this kid is a super talent but this has gotten freakin ridiculous. No disrepect to Cain, but no 18 year old kid is worth this kind of money. Football, baseball, basketball, and all the other sports out there. I understand that all these draft picks need to be paid but the MLB teams need to buck up and say we aren't meeting those type of demands. This might help bring all of the MLB salaries down over several years of doing this. And of course, the MLB players Assoc. would call the owners bluff but it would make the game so much more enjoyable to watch for me.

Heck, I cashed a huge $5000 12th round check after the 1997 draft.

hasn't signed yet. asking for 2m and slot money is 1.1 at least was asking for 2m before cain's signing.
Rumor has it Heathcott's deal is done and will be announced on the 17th. 
as much fun as it would be to play for lsu and a shot at omaha every year, i don't think there is any way you turn down 1+ million. hard to improve your draft status when your the 29th pick.

Yes sir! He still has to get all the paperwork transferred over from ULL...should be reporting next week pending that happening.
