Highlander Mom's son AJ was named a district Academic All-American. Way to go! Mark Prior will be graduating from USC this year. Sounds like AJ, like Prior, may have what it takes to pursue a pro career and also get his degree.

Wow ... what a nice surprise to get on line this morning and see this wonderful thread. Thanks, CADad, for starting it.
The team is struggling right now and at best will finish 3rd in conference with a slim chance of advancing to post season play ... AJ is side-lined right now with a sore flexor muscle, and may not get to throw in a game before the season ends ... but discovering that he was selected as an Academic All American (2nd year) the other day lifted our spirits more than we could imagine. He seems to "have it together" and we are ever so proud of him.
Athletically ... he takes after some distant relative. Academically ... he takes after his dad ... well, actually, he takes after both of us but I didn't want to seem pompous ...
