I coached a kid several years ago who as a Freshman I remember having conversations about should we cut him or keep him. This kid was so small. He basically had no baseball skills to speak of. What he did have was a tremendous work ethic. A love of the game. And a great smile everytime you saw him. By his Sr year he was an All State pitcher. A guy that would go on and star at the college level. And just this week was named the NCHSSAA Coach of the year. After taking my old school and his current school to the State Championship and winning it. Kurt is one of those success stories that makes you smile. He was not going to be out worked. He was not going to be denied. He has taken that same work ethic to his coaching career and his life. I am so proud of him.
