David was an invited walk-on to Stanford last year, red-shirted, and played in the Valley League last summer for Woodstock River Bandits. He was just named the PAC-10 Pitcher of The Week, after an unbelievable week. 2-0 for the week, 0.87 ERA, 15 K's in 10 innings. Quite a start for a very personable and bright young man!

(David's mom used to lurk around on these boards. Best wishes to da mom too!)

Oh my goodness, I never saw this before today! I don't visit too much any more.

Thank you to my good friend hokieone for posting this and for my other good friends for joining in. You are all so kind! As so often with baseball, there have been some ups and downs (the roller coaster as hokieone calls it) since early March, but still we are very grateful for all the support David has received. David's boyhood dream was to be able to play for Stanford; and he is so happy to be part of the team. Thank you!!

Hokieone, looking forward to getting back to Virginia this summer and trying one of those milkshakes....
