Agree Fungo, was there this past weekend to see them take two from the Vols and actually
spent a lot of time with some great fans around the outfield wall, "tailgating" during the games. What a great experience for a young man! MSU fans love their baseball and are
very knowledgeable about the opposing team.
The entire outfield is surrounded by a boardwalk that is virtually rented out in 20 foot
sections(some are 2 deep) that cost $150/season and there's a waiting list to get them.
Fans are allowed to build their own "bleachers" and use anything they choose for seats.
From easy chairs to old van bench seats to former bowling alley section seats-you name it
they have it. And every section was grilling something-at the start of Friday's game the
wind was blowing in and at one point they almost had to stop the game until the smoke cleared
.
There is also a huge scoreboard in right field that had instant replay on any play that
was significant.
The field itself was immaculate-MSU has a degree in Turf Management- and every playing surface at the school is taken care of by the program.
If you ever get a chance to see a baseball game there it's an experience you won't forget. Understandable now how they can get quality players to attend a college in the
middle of nowhere.
BTW the people there are some of the friendliest I've ever been around. Walking up to
the stadium before the game they noticed my UT hat and said "Hope you enjoy your visit
here".
It was spring break and they still had 5000+ fans in the stands.
