This was the list that was compiled by and published in the Montgomery County Gazette. They only follow athletes who attend schools in Montgomery County, public and private. So they'll follow Good Counsel, Prep and Landon but not St. John's -- unless Good Counsel is playing St. John's in an important game, in which case it might get a mention.

They might be receptive to an argument that they should cover county athletes no matter where they attend school... it's probably not too late to write a letter to the editor if you feel strongly about it.

New stuff --- nah --- reality Cup Cake. -- The list would be significantly different if kids that lived in Montgomery County were recognized......obviously -- there were kids drafted and in most cases lower on the draft list by MLB right out of high school that were not on the list.....But the list provides an excellent venue to limit the pool of applicable candidates to those that attend schools in Montgomery County versus those that reside in Montgomery County ---

What is the Trepfan All -Decade team for MOCO?

It would include kids that live in Montgomery County and attended schools in the county and elsewhere. For example, players that played at Saint Albans, Saint Johns, Gonzaga, and Paul the Sixth. The same kids that played at BCC and OBGC during their pre high school years. Many of these kids dominated the Maryland rankings per Perfect Game and Baseball America, and were recruited nationally by Division One colleges, and were high school All Americans.

Look at the MLB drafts for the past five years and you will see that most of the kids that played baseball and lived in Montgomery County that were selectees in the draft resided in Montgomery County but attend private schools in DC/VA. Does anyone want to challenge MLB Scouts knowledge in understanding talent? All the players noted on the list deserve recognition. But......the universe of selectees should include the residence of the kid not the location of the school.......When a kid is deemed an All-American by Baseball America, AFLAC,etc. it is based on State that they reside not where their high school is located. It just so happens that the predominate Division One Players reside in Montgomery County but choose to attend private schools in DC because because the baseball programs at these schools are "year round" and extremely intense/competitive ---

Might it be that you are NOT knowledgeable of these talented private and public MOCO HS baseball players in the last decade years to be able to answer the question?

You have asked "Does anyone want to challenge MLB Scouts knowledge in understanding talent?"
Be aware, statisically, 97.8% of scouts are wrong!

I think your thinking is rather flawed with your position
"The list would be significantly different if

Might it be and probably long overdue, that many are simply ignoring your despicable posts?

"Despicable"? ---- Don't feel threatened by a logical explanation.

"Despicable"? How about logical ---
I think that somone from the website needs to talk to "twitfan". Everytime time anything comes up about players from Montgomery County he starts with this BS about kids from the county that did not make the list because they dicided to go to a privite school in DC or VA. and then every one quits talking about this because "twitfan" and then it dies out. Howard County he never gave you the anwser because his kid would be the only one on it!

The Gazette team has some serious talent and all these men are deserving. Everyone wants to see your MOCO All Decade Team. The best player to come out of the schools you mention in recent years is not a MOCO resident. He is from PG CO and was drafted pretty high a few years ago.

Oh really! Are you referring to Routt, Hultzen, or maybe Newman -- oh I forgot -- how about Morland...I have more when you are ready......
