Coach Penders and his staff do a credible job in instruction, has pro scouts talk to kids, and has an important NCAA information class. My son attended December camp(a big part is done in showcase format),and recieved favorable evaluations, which each young man is handed prior to leaving. There were over 100 kids, at a buck and 1/2 per, and rumor had it only 2 kids were there because UCONN coaches were interested,(both of them pitchers). There is nothing wrong with good instruction from a D 1 College staff....just don't be disappointed if nothing comes out of it.
TRHit,
I was told by Matadordad to talk to you because i am from the east coast also. I live in southern NH and i am starting to look at high playing level baseball colleges to play at. I was wonderig about what UConn's reputation for baseball is and what division they play in. I would like to start asking some questions about college and scouts and scholarships and i was told to ask you because your one of the best. I have been to connecticut to a few tournament there for my aau team which i am not on anymore, but i am on Team new england at this time. I would like for you to talk about college with me so i can fully understand what a commitment this is and how to start looking for colleges.

Thanx for the kind words--now lets see what we can do for you

UCONN is not only a fine academic institution but the baseball program is solid and they play in the BIG EAST with the likes of national power Notre Dame, Rutgers Seton Hall St Johns etc.

What grade are you?

Perhaps it would be easier if you called me and we could talk one on one. I am familiar with the baseball talent in your state. In fact the second baseman on last fall's travel team, who we expect back again this year, is from Salem HS in NH.

I would suggest this--before you call me ,visit a few websites of schools that you are interested in. Look at schools in all three divisions so you get an idea of the variations and what they have to offer. Then call me and we can chat a bit

Thanx
