Connie Mack Fearless Predictions

Let’s handicap the field for the week’s Regional tournament. Leave the emotions out of it and try to be objective!

Here are my predictions:

Durango/Cherry Creek

If this were snowboarding I would give them a chance. Look for them to wilt in the Texas sun.

Ropes

This team came out of nowhere to win the Regional Qualifier Tournament in June. Beat DBAT 17 on the way. Fun team to watch!! They won’t go to Farmington but look for them to gets some scalps on the way out. They are an underdog that could surprise again.

Houston Raiders

Reports from DBATers said the team looked pretty good in Phoenix even though record was dismal. Beat Cats 17 and 18 to get here. May win a few games.

Miracles

Somebody give me some help with this one as I have no info.

Bill Hood

Sounds like a car dealership. Guessing they are 2 and done. Any better info on these guys??

DBAT 17

Greer led team is exciting offensive machine. Everyone hits the long ball. Will finish at least in top 3. Fun to watch!!

Tigers

Team had strong finish in Atlanta wood bat tournament. Peaking at right time. Lots of offensive tools. Tommy is one of the best at winning big AABC games. Tigers will be in the hunt to the end.

Mustangs

Skipper Sam Carpenter is the dean of area coaches and loves to go to Farmington. Team has lots of 18’s – some with D1 college experience. This could be a big plus. Arms recently added.

Fearless prediction: Mustangs sentimental choice to go to Farmington

Seriously, all of the local teams are fun to watch. Come to UTA and TCU to see them play!!!

Line drive you have a number of things wrong.

Things you have wrong:

1. Cherry Creek is coached by one of the best fundamental coaches in the game. On paper they want look good but watch out.

2. Frozen Ropes may win one game but want be able to hang with the big boys.

3. Bill Hood: Seen them play twice this year and even though TJ House is out for the season they will kick your butt. They have 5 guys in the line up that were drafted this year and 3 guys that played D1 ball this past season.

4. Tigers: To my knowledge Tommy has never taken a team to Farmington in the past 12 years. So your commit about winning the big AABC game??? Linty did go to Farmington once. But you are correct they are one of the hottest teams at this point.

My Prediction top 4 teams: Mustangs, Bill Hood, DBAT, Tigers

If I am not mistaken, Bill Hood won the South Plains regional not too long ago and went to Farmington. They can bring it.

That being said, it seems like the Mustangs are overdue for a trip to Farmington. How long has it been?

2002 - Bill Hood (Regional Champ @ Houston)
2003 - Dallas Mustangs (Regional Champ @ Houston)
2004 - Lubbock Hubbers (Regional Champ @ Broken Arrow,OK)
2005 - LH Wildcats (Regional Champ @ FW)
2006 - DBAT (Regional Champ @ FW) & LH Wildcats (WS Qualifier @ Cherry Creek, CO)
2007 - DBAT (Regional Champ @ FW) & Dallas Tigers (WS Qualifier @ Phoenix, AZ)

Just wondering if the rumor is true. Has that team really hit 65 homeruns or is this one of those inflated numbers?

I'm a DBat 17 dad. I suspect they passed that number in the CM BBI State tourney. They put up over 20 runs against the Patriots with many over the fence - 2 over the net at jesuit into the street. I saw 3 hr against the Barracudas in the championship game. League games at colleyville are usually a folly with balls flying out everywhere. That lineup is packing serious punch - believe it. I heard that number came from a review of the score book.
Based on the two games I saw that team play last weekend, that HR tally would seem legit.

Hadn't seen much of them earlier this year, but watched the balls fly out at Jesuit. Heard Muncy, Collins, Baker, Payne and Twitchell hit three each in the tournament.

That middle of the order: Collins, Baker, Muncy was fun to watch.
