In 2003 my son was fortunate enough to be there. He pitched in two games, one being against the host team; he said the fans were great and he thinks they helped him pitch better!!! Host family was great, the 6,000 fans were awesome, his team made it to the 'final four' and he and a teammate were named to the all-tournament team....his teammate won the HR Derby......he is home for about 12 days before heading back to school now, and he watched his two CMWS games on video the past two days.....his host family, I must admit, was awesome!!!

Good luck to those of you out there, especially the Ann Arbor Braves!!!

Bullwinkle Jr was there on the Reds with your son as well! It was fun and exciting experience for him. He just got back from the NBC World Series (Havasu Heat) and the experience was the same...just at a higher level.

My son went 2004 with Subia out of Arizona, first AZ team ever to make it. Lossed a 2 game championship to a national team Midland Redskins A great experience, I hope I get to compare it to OMAHA next year with the Beavers in my son's freshman year with OSU. The people in Farmington make the whole tournament what it is, great people all around.
The experience here in Farmington is 1,000 times better then what I expected. I have heard from a lot of people that have been here how great it is, but to experience it first hand is so much better.

First of all the people here are what make this event so great. The host families have been wonderful and it is amazing how quickly you form a bond with them. In fact, a few of these families have already made plans to come out to CA and stay with some of our families. They are going to take them to Disneyland, Angel Games, etc.

The fan support is unreal. I had the opportunity to participate in the 2001 College World Series (CSUF) and this event ranks right up there. The amount of fans at the games makes it so fun to play. Our players really enjoy signing autographs for all of the kids before and after the games as well.

The media coverage is great. Seeing your games covered in the paper every day is pretty cool. At least one of our guys have had their pic on the front page of the Sports Section every day. Each game is video taped and we will have a DVD of all of our games. In addition, every game is broadcasted live on the radio and internet so all of our family and friends from around the country can listen to them.

We came to the World Series looking forward to a great experience and so far it has been way better then we expected. So far we are (3-0) and have played very well. It is exciting to have beat the East Cobb Yankees and the Midland Redskins on back-to-back nights. We have some very tough games ahead of us and hopefully we can keep playing good baseball and win it all. However, win or lose we will fly home in a few days with memories that will last for a lifetime!!!!

You Guys DID VERY GOOD when you played our team (Clifton Park Yankees) and you all had a hell of a tourny!

And that closer that came in for the last inning of the first game when we played you had me looking like i had no idea what i was doing at the plate.....lol

I watched your last games as a spectator since our team got eliminated and you guys played hard until the last out!

Here's my story

I am a 16 yo playing on a 18 and under Connie Mack team. We won states this year and went to regionals. The bad thing was we were missing 5 of our startes because of Empire State Games and Work. We were predicted to go out in 2 games. Well we ended up sweeping the tourny including wins against Mass., NJ, Long Island, and 2 against Brooklyn Youth serivce who had kids who were already drafted and was one of the best teams in the east with 4 kids who could throw over 90 and one HUGE pitcher drafted. During this tourny and the WS i realized even more how little velocity means if you can't locate or if you don't have a good off-speed pitch. We were called the "bad news bears" in all the newspapers and we were definitly the under-dogs going into the WS. We were a very young ball club but during states and regionals we just had more heart than any team i have ever seen and we just found a way to win every time. We Went to New Mexico for the WS and it was unbelivable. We ended up going out in 3 games, Loosing our 1st and 3rd and winning our 2nd. We weren't to upset though because we were playing against teams who recruit all over the nation and our furthest player away is about 15 minutes. It is the first time our town has ever been out of states and now we came in a tie for 5th in the WS! It has been an amazing ride and i have learned so much this last week in NM. I got to bat against kids throwing 95-98, Division I Pitchers, and kids already drafted, and i am only 16! I Just want to let everyone one know NEVER count yourself out of ANYTHING. If you asked anyone they would have said we would have stood NO chance whatsoever against BYS in Regionals or any teams for that matter. Just work hard.

Just one more thing.....the most important thing for our team is having a good time. If we didn't do that then we probably wouldn't be in NM last week. If you look at us from the opposing dug out we might look like we don't care and were just having a good time. The truth is we do care but if you can't have fun playing the game then why play it. When we lost our last game againt Ann Arbor by 15 runs (pitching absolutly FELL APART) if you came in our dug out, yeah we were pissed but we were still trying to make the best out of it and laughing. That might not be your type of thing but it has worked for our team all summer. This is probably the most laid back team ive been on and this is the furthest weve ever been in a tournament. This was one of the best summers ever for me.

Hopefully we will be back next year because we only lose 2-4 kids.

P.S. I ended up going 1 for 2 with a single, a Strike out, and a walk with bases loaded.
