i want to contact coaches, should i send them an e-mail or write them a letter. And do i tell him that i through 81-83 and my height and weight and all that stuff??
You should include the correct information including your pitching speed (FB CB chg). There are some sample letters and something like a resume under recruiting tips:
Oriole, One can assume here that you are an 08 grad. If that is the case, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with picking up the phone and calling HC's or assistants.
My son has done it several times over the past few months with much success, i.e. private try-outs, HC's calling his high school coach to discuss, etc. I think they actually like the player themselves calling for it shows incentive. Not one coach along the way made my son feel any regrets for calling to introduce himself.
If and when you do call, I would be sure to ask the coach if it would be possible to come visit him and possibly show your skills. Don't be surprised if he says yes or even invites you to a group tryout. Either way, you got your foot in the door and that's what it is all about!
Be sure to be completely honest about how hard you really do throw. If you actually throw slower than you tell them, then its your character on the line when they see you. Not good.
